Novice Table Are you a "Novice," new to exhibiting your dahlias? LIDS welcomes new growers and exhibitors, bring your dahlias to the shows and we will help you set them up for the competition. LIDS Show Events Volunteers for Setup Schedule Thursday, September 1 "The Not as Big as it used to be Move" Meet at the lower level of the Carriage House at 5:00 PM to help move the dahlia show set up items from storage. Volunteers can drive down to the lower level of the Carriage House.
Friday, September 2 "Show Set-up at the Carriage House" Meet at the Carriage House at 10:00 AM to help prepare the tables for the show, set up the Court of Honor, set up the courtyard for staging. This is a great opportunity for future judges or new dahlias growers to learn how to prepare and label the tables with the class number and form signs. Dahlia staging follows in the Courtyard of the Carriage House after setup and continues until 9:00 PM.

Saturday, September 3 "LIDS Judging and Show" BCA gates open at 7:00 AM Dahlia staging on Saturday morning in the Courtyard of the Carriage house begins at 8:00 AM and continues until 10:30 AM Clerks and assistant judges should meet with Bill Bushman by 9:30 AM Judging starts at 11:00 AM. Open to the public at 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Sunday, September 4 "LIDS Show and Cleanup" Open to the public at 10:00 PM - 4:00 PM If you would like to help out during Sunday, please come on down! HELP! At 4:00PM re-enforcements are needed to assist in selling the flowers and dismantling the show. Many hands make light work! Thursday, September 15, 2016 Butterflies on Dahlias Presentation LIDS Membership Due – September is the Month Dues are due this month, please pay Millie Canzoneri at any LIDS event. Year Round 2016 Saturday Mornings at the William Wolkoff Garden Each Saturday during the dahlia season our volunteers meet at 9:00 a.m. at the William Wolkoff Dahlia Garden in Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Under the leadership of the Garden Director Joe Lysik, our volunteers support the garden by preparing the tubers for planting, maintaining the garden during the bloom times, through the digging up the tubers at the end of season, this is a hands-on learning experience, all are welcome.
