November Happenings at the Wolkoff Garden |
Hello Members! Hello, LIDS Members, we had a beautiful day last Saturday celebrating Bill Wolkoff's 102nd Birthday!! Isn't he just amazing? He had such a big smile as he overlooked his Dahlia gardens, which he had started many years ago. Everyone loves the 2nd year seedling named after him "Wolkoff Creamsicle." We all think it's a winner. This Saturday, November 2, our expert garden director, Joe Lysik, may decide it is time to start cutting down some of the Dahlias. Joe will let all the volunteers know on Saturday. The "BIG Dig" happens sometime in November after all the stalks have been cut down. Every week dress according to the weather as temperatures start to drop. At the gazebo, also on Saturday, Dahlia flowers will be for sale for the 1st time. If you want to help out, please see the fundraising members.
