Volunteers for Setup Schedule

Thursday, August 29, 2024

We will meet around 8:00 AM and go to the lower level of the Carriage House to help move the Dahlia show  set-up items from storage. Most if not all of the show will be set up today: The Court of Honor, tables, signs, courtyard for staging, etc.

Volunteers are needed for show set-up

Friday, August 30th, 2024

Last minute details and finishing up the courtyard for Dahlia Staging begins at 1:00 PM. Dahlia staging follows after set-up at 1:00 PM and continues until 6:00 PM. (Dahlia Staging resumes at 7:00 AM on Saturday, August, 31st.) Parking for these days may still only be in the main or new visitors' parking lot. As of this post, Bill Bushman will drive the golf cart and hopefully we will be able to get more help as it is very challenging to carry Dahlia blooms down to the garden for early staging for the show.

Fresh Dahlia blooms and I believe raffle tickets will be sold over the weekend by our fantastic volunteers (please volunteer for a few hours.)

SHOW FLOWERS will be sold starting at 3:00 PM. If we have a raffle, the winner will be announced. We have to be packed away by 5:00 PM.

Novice Growers: We have a special section just for you! A novice is anyone who has never won more than 2 TRI-Ribbons at a LIDS show. So even if you have won before, we want you to win again! If you have never entered, don't be shy; give it a try. We will be happy to help you. There is a small, medium, and large section to place your Dahlia(s) in.

LIDS Show and Cleanup

Sunday, September 1st, 2024

Open to the public from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

We are selling the Dahlia show flowers starting at 3:00 PM.

Breakdown and cleanup start immediately afterwards as we need to be done by 5:00 PM. Please help out whenever and wherever you can as this show takes a lot of energy and effort to put on. Help is especially needed at 3:00 PM when we sell the flowers to the public and of course during breakdown. Clean-up goes so much faster with all hands on deck, and is greatly appreciated!
