April/May Happenings at The Wolkoff Garden |
Hello Members! With the earthquake and partial eclipse behind us, it's time to move on with the Dahlia garden. May is right around the corner so clean-up preparation is underway in the Dahlia beds. The LIDS greenhouse is well stocked with started plants for sale, and to plant out in the Wolkoff Garden when the soil warms up. Dahlias need a warm soil temperature to grow in. If you're a new member, now is a great time to join us on Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday mornings at the Wolkoff Garden to learn step-by-step growing instructions for growing Dahlias. Our expert Garden Director, Joe Lysik is always on hand to teach you, along with the Garden Associates. LIDS Dahlia Tuber/Plant Sales at the Wolkoff Garden are ongoing on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturdays. Volunteers are always needed to help with all sales now, and upcoming. If you can volunteer any time at any or all of the sales dates please reach out to our Fundraising Chair or Co-Chairs, Kelly or Tom. If you buy any Dahlia tubers/plants (especially tubers) please bring a box or container to carry them home, as bags can break the eyes or plants. Upcoming Plant Sales are all listed on our Website
