Hello Members! Apologies for being so late with this email. February is almost over and soon it will be time to set up the greenhouse! Our expert Garden Director, Joe Lysik has been busy with the volunteers on Wednesdays & Saturdays checking the Dahlia Tubers that were stored for the winter. If you have some time and haven't been down to the barn, Joe could always use a hand. Members are dividing the Dahlia Tubers and writing the names/numbers on them. If you want to learn how to divide Your tubers, now is the perfect time. Cake and coffee afterward.
Upcoming Dahlia Tuber/Plant Sales LIDS Dahlia Tuber Sales will be on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays from 9:00 AM- 11:30 AM at the Wolkoff Garden starting Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, and ending mid-June 2024. Started plants will be added when they become available. Prices are TBD. They will posted to the website as the time nears. Please note Holly Sisti will no longer be selling Dahlia Tubers ONLINE, as COVID restrictions have ended. Farmingdale University Sale Farmingdale University sale dates in May are Tuesday, May 7th through Thursday, May 9th, 2024. This is a very big fundraiser for LIDS. More details to follow. Hicks Nursery Flower Show on March 7th-31st, 2024 We have not had too bad of a winter. More snow than last year, but still if you want to be around plants don't forget Hicks Nursery Flower Show. It's FREE! Show Hours are 8:00 AM- 6:00 PM The Theme is "Celebrations Around the World" Location: 100 Jericho Turnpike, Westbury, NY 11590 2024 Philadelphia Flower Show March 2-10th, 2024 "United by Flowers" held inside the PA Convention Center.
